Purple Door Potters

www.purpledoorpotters.com

We are a group of potters who hold an annual sale on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving. It began in 1997 when Dianne Farber, an instructor at the Edina Art Center, invited a few potter friends to hold a pottery sale at her house. They needed a name for promoting the sale and since Dianne’s front door was purple, they chose Purple Door Potters. I’ve been a member of the group since 2001. Lately we’ve held our sale in a beautiful room overlooking Lake Bde Maka Ska at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis.

This once little art center on Lexington Ave offers pottery classes for adults and children. From 2004 - 2024 I taught clay classes for adults and teens at Eagan Art House, including during the summer of construction on the new building when the view out the window changed daily, sometimes even hourly.

Edina Art Center was my clay home from Sept. 1999 - March 2020.  Unfortunately Edina is no longer offering clay classes.
